Functions of the Committee:

1. To recommend the minimum qualifications for recognition as supervisor for research work.

2. To consider and to recommend application from teachers in the affiliated colleges for recognition as Research Supervisor.

3. To recommend the names of distinguished persons from outside the university for guiding research work.

4. To consider the cases of registration for doctoral degree where three is change of subject/faculty.

5. To consider the cases of registration for doctoral degrees where there is change of subject/faculty.

6. To consider cases of difference of opinion between examiners of doctoral thesis and other exceptional situations not expressly covered by rules on the subject.

7. To performs such other functions, as may be assigned to it by the academic council or by the Board of Management, with regard to the maintenance of standards and promotion of research.
